MEXICO

December was another wonderful opportunity to serve the Lord Jesus in the Mexican states of Coahuila and Durango. The intercessions of you dear ones who uphold us in prayer definitely served to promote the cause of Christ.

It was a unique opportunity to be able to teach the seminary students of the largest Baptist Seminary in Mexico: Seminario Bautista de la Lagunera, Torreón, Coahuila. From Monday thru Friday, God used His humble servant to illuminate these 45 students with teachings on Discipleship Ethics and New Doctrines Invading the Evangelical Church Today. Several students shared the experience of that week: “ you moved the envelope; we had little knowledge of what was taking place and what was coming to our churches.” Evangelistic meetings were conducted each night in various local churches.

Then, it was on the Durango City, the capital of the state of Durango. There, for 4 hours, pastors and leaders from various evangelical congregations listened intently and took notes from our seminar for that day, Church Ethics and the Christian Leader. Every evening was spent preaching in different congregations and emphasizing discipleship. Dozens of Christians came forward, dedicating themselves to Christian service while another group of people come forward to receive Christ as Lord and Savior.

Please pray for more openings in these cities so that we may reach the leaders and disciple them for spiritual success in their churches and homes.

CHILE AND PERU

My recent trip to Chile and Peru was, without a doubt, one of the best and most successful missionary trips I have taken in the past 30 years of ministry as evangelist and conference speaker.  Because of much prayer and preparation, God worked in unusual ways in the hearts of over 2,000 people, His presence being felt everywhere!                                                                                                            

   1.  Many Christians made a commitment to follow the Lord Jesus,
   2.  Dozens of marriage partners recommitted themselves to each other and to Christ,
   3.  132 unsaved South Americans found Jesus as Savior,

In Antofagasta, Chile, three, two-hour conferences were held daily, for six days.   Hundreds of the very high class Chileans were present, listening intently and taking notes on my expositions on themes such as, Towards a Perfect Marriage, The Family in Crisis, Christian Leadership, Excellence in the Christian Walk, etc.  Many CDs were sold afterwards as many desired to share the experience with friends and relatives.    

The excitement and blessing that began in the Northern city of Antofagasta (population 450,000) continued further northward into my next stop, Peru.  There, I was immediately escorted to Barranca, a coastal city, 135 miles north of Lima, where the theme on Church Ethics was expounded for three days and nights.  Three local churches came together and filled the town hall.  Each night, so many came forward to be saved or to dedicate themselves to Christ…so many, in fact, that we had to turn people away due to the lack of adequate space.  The churches were so happy to see so many responding, while at the same time, so many in attendance. 

 There was an unusual blessing from the Lord:  a last-minute invitation to speak to 3 churches at the Baptist Fellowship auditorium outside the capital city.  This, being a holiday, everyone was relaxed and seemed to enjoy what was to be an unusual blessing from the Lord.  And for me, in particular, a great privilege, performing some of my sacred music and speaking to over 100 families in attendance on the theme, “Towards a Godly Home.”

 Daily conferences were held at The New Jerusalem Elementary Christian School in the city of Lima, Peru.  The main sanctuary was completely full each night as I gave 2-hour seminars to the parents and relatives of the 245 students.  The theme for the four-night conferences was, How to Raise Your Children in the Fear of God.

LEON, GUANAJUATO, MEXICO

What a privilege to share special conferences with 3 growing congregations in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. Leon is a growing and thriving city of 2 million people and considered to be the most fanatical, religious section of the country-lots of antagonism and hatred towards evangelicals. 

Every night, and for 8 days I had the privilege of sharing 2-hour conferences of the subject, "The New Morale".  Well-to-do Mexicans are very concerned about the "new Gospel lite'" making inroads into their homes and churches (excessive entertainment, sermons and music without depth, and emphasis on the outward rather than true conversion and change.)       

In one of these conferences, Jaime Gutierrez came forward to  dedicate himself to God.  He was the former "mafia boss" of the Mexican drug cartel, central region. Jaime pleaded with other Christians to "give it all up" and surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  He explained to me how different it is for him, now, "I have a NEW drug…Jesus, my Lord and Master!  I am set completely free from all fear and hatred and now free to love, live the abundant life, and share this life-changing opportunity with others!"  

A special evangelism meeting was held for women.  Over 65 of them  brought their unsaved friends to a breakfast get-together in the gymnasium.  I spoke on the woman who "touched the hem of his garment", and was gloriously healed, and we witnessed over 12 decisions for Christ!

Please continue to pray for the 139 people who made decisions for Christ and the many others who made a commitment to Christian service and/or spiritual awakening.
